- How does WritersProof relate to DIDs and Verifiable Credentials?
- WritersProof generates a Written Authorship Report (WAR) — a signed, tamper-evident document that can be anchored to a DID or embedded in a VC as a behavioral attestation claim. The CPoE protocol is designed to complement existing identity infrastructure, not replace it.
- What is the current protocol standardization status?
- The Proof of Process framework has been published as eleven active IETF Internet-Drafts. We are actively seeking co-authors and working group adoption. The drafts are available at /protocol.
- How does the behavioral biometric binding work technically?
- WritersProof captures keystroke dynamics, inter-key timing distributions, pause entropy, and revision sequences during a writing session. These are hashed into a chain alongside rolling document snapshots using HMAC-SHA256, creating a linked proof that the behavioral data corresponds to the specific document content at each checkpoint.
- Can Written Authorship Reports be embedded in C2PA manifests?
- Yes. The WAR is designed as a C2PA soft-binding assertion — it can be embedded in a C2PA manifest as an additional behavioral evidence layer. We are working toward a formal C2PA assertion type definition and welcome collaboration from C2PA implementers.
- Is the reference implementation actually open source?
- Yes. The CLI and verification library are Apache 2.0 licensed. The protocol specification is public domain. The desktop app has a free tier. Nothing about the verification path requires a commercial relationship.
